Set your Interface

We use .css extensively in our web projects. It allows for rapid flexible styling of the site content and fast layout changes. Here are a some sample .css styles to use while you visit. Some are more "experimental" than others, so choose the one that works well for you. Please also adjust your browser settings to enlarge or reduce your font-size. We design the site so the content is "Elastic" and reflows to fit the window or screen as you resize or adjust your font settings.

Design for Everyone.

Metacosm leverages the latest WW3 web content standards to develop web sites and software interfaces that also meet ADA standards for disabled accessibility. By formatting content properly it becomes usable to disabled individuals with specialized browsers that can visually enlarge, read aloud, or translate pages to braille. The web is made for everyone, and these people especially benefit from new media technologies that allow them to interact as peers in an otherwise inaccessible world.

Content Vs. Style

One of the best features of html and css is the way they separate the layout from the content. This allows our documents to flow to multiple devices and platforms, and remain readable. Theme is an important part of brand identity, but content is where the rubber meets the road. We use the Oddmuse Wiki Engine to power this site - we like it's simplicty, flexibility, and PERL foundations. We have also built multi-user sites with WordPress?, Drupal, phpBB and other content management systems.

Themes

These themes dynamically restyle the content of the site using CSS. For great information on CSS check out the Zen Garden. Some of these themes have been developed by metacosm for other sites, and may not be 100% on styling all elements. Mishaps in the layout may therefor occur… Still, it is fun to try a few.
